Artists Embassy International, the sponsoring organization for Natica Angilly's Poetic Dance Theater Company, has various annual events. Please mark your calendar to be sure you can participate. In addition to our annual events, many other events occur during the year to offer our members many exciting artistic activities and venues.
January: Alameda, CA: Alameda Historic and Art Museum Exhibition.AEI artists display their works during the month January: Meet-the-Artists reception and poetry reading with poetic dance. One Saturday (Usually the third Saturday) of January, Artists discuss their works, Poets read their works, Dancers present exciting action, and the poetic snacks are served all afternoon. January: Opening of the interntional Dancing Poetry Contest on which the Dancing Poetry Festival is build around each September.
February: Pinole, CARakkasah's Winter Moon. Please visit www.Rakkasah.com. AEI has a sales booth. Natica performs poetic dance. February: Redwood Empire Chinese Association Chinese New Year Celebration and Fundraiser, each 4th Saturday of February. A contingency of AEI members always attends this event in Santa Rosa, CA. March: Richmond, CA: Rakkasah West, AEI's biggest fundraiser event. We have a large sales booth of AEI products and are also an official sales site for Rakkasah. Natica does poetic dance. Rakkasah is a Middle Eastern Dance Festival and Bazaar. Please visit www.rakkasah.com April: Somerset, New Jersey: Spring Fusion Dance Festival and Bazaar. A Rakkasah event. April: National Dance Week Classes and Performance
May: May 15 is the deadline for the Dancing Poetry Contest which provides the program for the Dancing Poetry Festival in September.
Summer: Usually every other year, dates TBA, World Congress of Poets. 2011, in Larissa, Greece, June 29-July 3. Many AEI members will be present. Many AEI board members are also UPLI (United Poets Laureate International) board members. Please visit www.upli-wcp.org
August: Santa Rosa, CA: Multi-Cultural Poetry Reading and Pot Luck Lunch co-sponsored with Santa Rosa's Poets of the Vineyard and the Redwood Empire Chinese Association. Please visit www.recacenter.org. Check the August Newsletters for past Multi-Cultural Poetry Reading stories and photos.
September: San Francisco's California Palace of the Legion of Honor: Dancing Poetry Festival with prize winning poets from around the world invited to read their prize winning work and at least 10 additional dance acts combining poetry and dance as a unified dance form. 3 Grand Prize Winners from the Dancing Poetry Contest will also be choreographed and danced.
October: Somerset, New Jersey: Rakkasah East. AEI again has a sales booth. Natica's Poetic Dance Theater Company dances. Please visit www.rakkasah.com
December: AEI annual board meeting and Christmas Party. All interested members are welcome to attend. Please contact Natica at naticaaei@aol.com for info. The exact details are usually set in November for the December meeting.
Throughout the year, AEI members have art displayed, both individually and as a group showing, at Cafe Arrividerci in San Rafael, CA, and Ristorante Aurora in Novto, CA, through Salons For Your Imagination, WOW!.
